Mne1 G P Evans P040381H RM. 42 Commando formed part of 3 Commando Brigade during the Falklands War. They were involved in the recapture of South Georgia, approach to Mount Harriet and the battle of Mount Harriet - one of the Two Sisters objectives on the 11th and 12th June 1982.There is a very good book about the actions of 42 Commando during the Falklands War called - March to the South Atlantic: 42 Commando, Royal Marines in the Falklands War. From the moment the author gave his famous order'To the Atlantic - Quick March' to the final return home he describes what going to war with 42 Commando was like.
