1853/4 Royal Botanic Society WYON Bronze Medal M. Van Houtte Aphelandra #T8K

This is an antique medal from the Royal Botanic Society of London. It was awarded to M. Van Houtte for Aphelandra Van Houttii in 1853/4, I'm pretty sure it was engraved wrong and the correct number was just engraved over the top. In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. There is some surface scuffing. Please see pictures for more details and visual confirmation of condition.

Important in the Botanical plant world... Have flowers named after them as per this medal. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter.
