
This is an original pre-WWII British Masonic Steward's jewel from the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys, dated 1934. The jewel is a high-quality multi-piece example with detailed enamel work in blue, green, red, and white. The top bar is enamelled "STEWARD" and retains its original ribbon.
The central badge displays the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys insignia with the date "1934" at the top. The reverse is maker marked "SPENCER, QUEEN ST, LONDON, " a respected London maker of Masonic regalia. The piece is properly British-hallmarked, including the Birmingham assay office anchor, the Lion Passant confirming sterling silver content, and the date letter "J, " which corresponds to 1934. A registered maker/sponsor mark "RS" is also present, consistent with period British Masonic production. As is typical of higher-quality Masonic jewels, the piece incorporates both gilt and sterling silver elements, with the silver components legally assayed and hallmarked. The jewel retains original patina throughout and has not been polished or restored.Condition shows honest age-related wear, including ribbon wear and surface patina.
