The medal was established on February 26, 1896 by Tsar Nicholas II, to commemorate the fifty-first year of the birth of his late father, Tsar Alexander III. The medal was bestowed upon the higher ranks of the Armed Forces, civil servants and of the Clergy who were on active duty on that date. Did not have this tested but I believe this to be silver. Not 925 but possibly 850. Weighs 12.3 g (including the jump ring).
This belonged to a career Army Major who served in WW2 and Korea. He married a German woman after the war. Many things in his estate belonged to his wife and her family. This was one of those pieces. Have look at all pics; they're part of the description. I will combine items for you. Please do this before checking out. Thanks so much for checking out my listing/store!
