Edge bruise to KSA and light contact marks, generally very fine and better, rare to unit. Attested for the Royal Garrison Artillery and served in South Africa attached to the Supply and Transport Corps, Punjab Command. He served throughout the campaign with the Dhanjibhoy Tonga Train. Concerning the train Lord Roberts wrote in his Despatch of 31 March 1900. My thanks are due to Khem Bahadur Dhanjibhoy, a Parsee gentleman, long resident in the Punjab, who presented tongas for ambulance purposes.

These tongas were horsed and fully equipped with drivers and all necessary gear. As well as being awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal Waugh was also Mentioned in Despatches.
