GOOD CONDITION and Quite Scarce. This is a Japanese Pure Silver Manchukuo Emperor Puyi Japan Visit Medal for 1935. Made a state visit to Japan on Emperor. A very very beautiful spearhead shaped medal. Has the M hallmark indicating it was made at the Osaka Mint and the 1000 Mark indicates that it is 99.9% silver.
Case is just a bit soiled but in good condition. One face has orchids and chrysanthemums the Imperial flowers of Japan and. There is an inscription in the banner at the bottom that says One in virtue and spirit.
Other side has Kang Teh 2 ie 1934 Manchukuo Empire, Emperor's Visit to Japan. Commemorative Medal written on it. REFER TO PICTURES FOR CONDITION. Manchukuo or Manchuria was a puppet state of the Empire of Japan in Northeast China and Inner Mongolia from 1932 until 1945.
The Japanese installed Puyi as Head of State in 1932, and two years later he was declared Emperor of Manchukuo with the era name of Kangde "Tranquility and Virtue". Puyi was nothing more than a figurehead and real authority rested in the hands of the Japanese military officials.
