Monaco - Order of Saint Charles, Knight Cross (Chevalier) - Arthus Bertrand Presentation Case. A beautiful and historically significant Knight's Cross of the Order of Saint Charles (Ordre de Saint-Charles), the prestigious national order of the Principality of Monaco. Established on 15 March 1858 by Prince Charles III, the Order of Saint Charles recognises distinguished merit and services rendered to the Monegasque State or its Sovereign Prince. It remains one of Monaco's most prestigious honours.

The insignia features the characteristic eight-pointed Maltese-style cross, decorated with white enamel bordered in red and finished with gold-coloured detailing. Between the arms of the cross is an attractive green enamelled wreath of laurel and olive branches. The central obverse medallion displays the crowned double-C monogram of Prince Charles III, surrounded by the Latin motto.

PRINCEPS ET PATRIA - The Prince and the Fatherland. The reverse features the red-and-white heraldic arms of the House of Grimaldi, surrounded by the motto.

DEO JUVANTE - With God's Help. The decoration is suspended from an elaborately detailed princely crown and accompanied by the distinctive red-and-white ribbon of Monaco. The cross comes with a black presentation case featuring a cream-coloured velvet and silk-style interior. The case bears the maker's mark. The marked presentation case is an attractive accompanying feature and adds considerable collector interest.
