The Akhtyrsky 12th Hussar Regiment is a cavalry (hussar) unit of the Russian Imperial Army. The regiment was initially formed as the Akhtyrsky Settlement Slobodsky Circassian Cossack Regiment of the Belgorod Division in 1651, reformed into a hussar regiment (light cavalry) in 1765, and a dragoon regiment in 1882; back to hussars in 1907.

Regimental seniority : June 27, 1651. Regimental holiday: July 2, the day of the Miraculous Icon of the Akhtyrskaya Mother of God or the Deposition of the Robe of the Holy Mother of God in Blachernae.
