The 96th Omsk Infantry Regiment is an infantry military unit of the Russian Imperial Army. The regiment was formed on May 17, 1797, consisting of two battalions, under the name of the 3rd Jaeger Regiment; on October 31, 1798, the regiment was named after its chief, Major General Gvozdev, and on March 29, 1801, it was named the 2nd Jaeger Regiment and was made up of three battalions.
