Silver Jubilee Enamel Cycling Medal RARE 1935 Cyclists Touring Club Royal Medal
RARE 1935 Cyclists Touring Club Royal Silver Jubilee Enamel Cycling Medal. This relay commemorated the Silver Jubilee of King George V. This was a round Britain Bicycle Relay Ride where 500 riders carried a scroll around the country and this was Signed by 100 Mayors / Provosts in the towns and cities that were visited. The CTC relay started at the Mansion House in London on 22nd April 1935 (Easter Monday), and travelled via Dundee on the East coast of Scotland and Glasgow on the West then down to Exeter and back to London where it finished at Buckingham Palace on the 6th May.

The bike riders rode 2215 miles in 15 days. It is believed these medals were given to some of the riders. The front has a blue enamel design with white wings and the CTC letters.

This is the Cycling Touring Club emblem. The reverse reads " 1935 Royal Silver Jubilee Relay Ride ". This is in excellent condition and measures 3 centimetres across its diameter. It's a great piece of cycling memorabilia which is particularly Rare.
