A South Atlantic 1982 Medal (Falklands War) to a marine from 42 Commando. The medal is correctly named as follows. Mne1 G P Evans P040381H RM. 42 Commando formed part of 3 Commando Brigade during the Falklands War. They were involved in the recapture of South Georgia, approach to Mount Harriet and the battle of Mount Harriet - one of the Two Sisters objectives on the 11th and 12th June 1982.

It was the men of the'Four-Two' that took part in the recapture of South Georgia and, later, South Thule. They also had to hold Challenger Ridge in atrocious conditions and went on to seize Mount Harriet in a daring night assault. Written by the then commanding officer of 42 Commando.
