A South Atlantic 1982 Medal (Falklands War) to a marine from 40 Commando and a collection of items taken by him from an Argentinian prisoner of war. The medal is correctly named as follows. MNE1 P J SINCLAIR PO40189B RM. 40 Commando formed part of 3 Commando Brigade during the Falklands War.
Marine Sinclair joined the Royal Marines in January 1980. During the Falklands conflict he served in air defence troop Royal Marines and provided General Purpose Machine Gun GPMG support to the infantry. The medal includes a collection of items that Marine Sinclair took from an Argentinian prisoner or war named Edgardo Esteban. This includes his identify card confirming his year of birth as 1962, a large number of photos of the Argentinian soldiers and artillery leaving Argentina, the flight over and arriving at the Falklands and two bank notes. The medal is in very good condition. The rosette has come lose from the ribbon but can easily be reattached. Please let me know if you need any additional photos or information.
