VR LSGC Medal Royal Navy Yacht Osborne Ent Ashanti HMS Argus STEVENSON Wootton

Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Royal Navy Queen Victoria, As pictured, all correctly named as issued. With copy service record only Thomas Stevenson was a Stoker on the Royal Yacht Osborne. He was born Wootton Northamptonshire in 1844 (When it was a small village) He served onboard HMS Argus from 27 March 1873 to 17 May 1877, therefore he was entitled to the Ashanti medal. He joined the Royal Yacht in February 1880 and remained on her until 26 October 1894 when he was shore pensioned.

It is possible he was also awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee medal in 1887 but I do not have access to the medal roll to confirm either way.
