Wedgwood Roman Emperor Vitellius Black Basalt Portrait Medallion Plaque 1780-95. Rare antique British black basalt portrait medallion of the Roman Emperor Aulus Vitellius. Impressed Vitellius below the portrait. Also impressed Wedgwood on the reverse.

Has a very small flake to the back edge, and a small in manufacture firing separation along his hairline above the forehead which is hard to see in person, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 1 3/4 inches wide x 2 1/8 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
