100% GENUINE FULL SIZE & CORRECTLY NAMED. 1914-15 Trio, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, 1939-45 War medal. Robert Nelson Petherick was born in Penarth Glamorgan 1898 & joined the Navy as a boy in 1914. He was discharged to pension post WW1 but re-engaged as AB/PENSIONER 4-3-1938. He was sadly killed in action 9-11-1942 serving on HMS Palomares.
She was hit by a bomb 9-11-1942 and did not sink but suffered a large number of casualties. The recipient was 44 years of age when he died and is commemorated on the Plymouth naval memorial. He is recorded by the C. C as the late son of Joseph & Mary Petherick of Penarth, Glamorgan.
