WWI / WW1 Imperial Japan Army Interallied Entente Campaign Victory Medal 1920

WWI / WW1 Imperial Japan Army Interallied Entente Campaign Victory Medal 1920. Shown is an uncommonly seen WWI Victory Medal awarded by Imperial Japan. Although Japan was only involved in limited engagements during WWI, its status at the time as a great power allowed it to maintain a formidable presence in the Far East and a free hand in attacking German colonies, earning it a seat at the postwar peace conference. The most notable Japanese action was the Siege of Tsingtao in 1914, where Japanese troops were able to seize German Tsingtao after suffering heavy losses.

The front of the medal shows the Japanese god of war, Takemikazuchi, while the obverse is a cherry blossom commemorating other major Entente powers. The medal is in amazing and practically spotless condition for its age, with the ribbon showing an appropriate amount of fading that shows its years. The clasp is intact, with no visible damage anywhere on the ribbon. No cracks or missing pieces on the wooden case with very clear characters. Definitely a solid and scarce medal for display, and one that is certainly missing from a lot of WWI collections.

Reasonable offers are more than welcome.
